When you signed up for the Verizon FIOS service, the technician should have helped setup for your TV. But once you changed to a new TV, the button for volume control and TV on/off would stop working. I found this link very useful.

Besically, you go there and find the remote controller you have, look up the control code for your TV set and program the remote control following the direction.
It is pretty simple but useful.
